To lead the comprehensive supervision of institutions within the financial system, overseeing regulatory compliance by financial institutions, foreign exchange traders and payment service providers in all their roles, along with their compliance with the regulations issued by the BCRA on financial consumer protection, including the supervision of credit card financing and products for financial inclusion.
Alejandro Petinelli is a Certified Public Accountant from Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP).
During his extensive career at the BCRA, he held various positions in the supervision area: Assistant, Deputy Inspector, Senior Inspector, General Inspector, and Financial Institutions Supervision Manager.
He participated in the Financial Specialization Program taught at the BCRA and in the Risk-Based Supervision – The Spanish Model course delivered by the Bank of Spain. He is currently an internal trainer for the Superintendence of Financial and Foreign Exchange Institutions (SEFyC), the BCRA, and the ECB (in the Central Banking Specialization Program). He also served as a trainer in the Training Program for Regulations, Practices, and Banking Techniques of the Association of Public and Private Banks of the Argentine Republic (Asociación de Bancos Públicos y Privados de la República Argentina, ABAPPRA), in training activities organized by the Bank of Spain, in international training sessions of the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (Asociación de Supervisores Bancarios de las Américas, ASBA), and in other activities organized by the Superintendence of Banks and Insurance of Ecuador, addressing issues related to risk-based supervision.
