Changes for Bringing Capital Contributions and Financial Debt into Argentina

Companies are allowed to bring capital contributions or financial debt into Argentina through the capital market where the resulting foreign currency is settled in the forex market.

The measure was adopted by the Board of the BCRA and involves a number of transactions: the settlement of bonds and corporate bonds, and the repatriation of interest and principal for direct investments as from October.

Companies may adopt this method for bringing foreign currency into Argentina on the condition that the principal is paid, or contributions are repaid at least one year after, or, in the case of corporate bonds placed in the local market, they have a two-year grace period.

These transactions will not prevent the access to the forex market to carry out foreign trade transactions.
