The exhibition of the National Painting Award sponsored by the Central Bank of Argentina , was launched on December, Thursday 15. It will be open to the public Mondays through Fridays, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, in the BCRA’s Museum located at San Martín 216, City of Buenos Aires.
During the opening, Federico Sturzenegger and curator Eva Grinstein gave out the Great Prize for Distinguished Painters to master Julio Le Parc for his work "Mobile Bleu Sur Blanc" 1960/1995.
The purpose of this prize is to promote and spread Argentine contemporary art. Its ninth edition gathered over 2000 works by 763 artists from all over the country. The wining works have been chosen by a jury made up by Mercedes Casanegra, Rafael Cippolini, Tulio de Sagastizábal, Silvia Gurfein, and Oscar Smoljan.
